Welcome to the Chuu-Chuu Chamber!

The crew lets you into a... rather interesting bedroom, which was surely not caused by any innocent little guys being thrown earlier. Outside of the, ah, decor, there's also a large timer on the wall.

The timer starts at 5 minutes, and the crew will helpfully inform both of you that unless you start kissing, getting handsy, so and so forth before your time is up... you'll be kicked out of the room!

If you do, you'll find, the timer then starts over -- at 4 minutes!

Then 3.

Then 2...

And so on and so forth, until there isn't any time at all between activities. Better get busy!

[ He nods his head at that, happy in a way to talk about Aiba. She's such a core part of his life that it's weird to know he'll be without her for four weeks but then again, he was without her for six years, wasn't he? Something he's still not happy about, if he had to admit. ]

Her name is Aiba. She's the best partner a guy could have and I really owe her a lot. She does think for herself, has her own interests, hobbies, likes and dislikes. She's nearly identical to a human, but a really logical and less intuition based one.

[ He sighs, a bit fond. ]

She's family, in a weird way.

[ Date thinks back to Saito then, to So, and how closely inexplicably tied they were to his life. He knows Saito would've loved to be able to see through Date's eye if he could, to track him down, to figure out how to kill him. It's an awful sort of lack of privacy, isn't it?

And that's what he wants to say, but Hong Lu is leaning closer and Date's eyes widen a little. He'll take the moment to look at him, both the jade eye and then his eye drops down to his lips before flicking towards the timer. Three minutes left.

Back to Hong Lu then. He lifts a hand, curling it against Hong Lu's cheek and setting his thumb under his eye so he can tilt his head from one side to the other, admiring the fake eye. ]

Mm. My elders had foisted this jade eye onto me since I was fresh out of my mother's womb.

[ so... no, it's not as consensual as date's. despite the implications of his words and his close proximity with the other man, hong lu's smile remains serene as always. he's dealt with it back home, no need to be too emo about it now. ]

[ Huh. That's giving him so many questions. He wants to know more, and he figures since they're here already, he might as well ask. He's still holding onto Hong Lu's face though, admiring the eye. ]

[ then, he shakes his head as he huffs out a self-deprecating laugh. ]

[ Ex-Precious Jade... he doesn't know Mandarin enough to know the translation but he gets the explanation now. His hand does slide down to Hong Lu's neck, curled against the side of it and just resting there instead of continuing to cradle his face. An unconscious movement. ]

I think I'm still worried. You can't just say you lost your entire family without me worrying about you.

[ Hm. ]

Is that why you're here? A chance to spark connection after losing so much?

[ --oh. is that what he thinks? hong lu can't help but laugh, his hand reaching up to grasp date's wrist. ]

No, no, you misunderstand. My elders who were viewing everything through this eye are the ones who are no longer of this earth. My immediate family, however, are still around by miracle.

[ and he's... very thankful for it. he did it all out of his love for his little sister, after all. ]

That's a story for another time. Fufu, I'm relieved, actually. That I'm not the only one with an eye-catching background here.

[ Oh, that's such a relief. Date exhales, laughs a little, and nods his head. Okay, so Hong Lu isn't completely alone which... would've been sad for such a nice seeming guy. ]

I'm really glad to hear that. Family is important, after all.

And... eye-catching, huh? Yeah, you could say that. I —

[ Oh! The timer is beeping. They've got to ... do something or they'll be kicked out of the room. ]

his thoughts are interrupted by the timer's incessant beeping, eyes blinking at date's sudden proposition. ]
