Welcome to the Chuu-Chuu Chamber!

The crew lets you into surprisingly lovely bedroom, blessed by a certain housefriend who favors at least one of you. Outside of the decor, there's also a large timer on the wall.

The timer starts at 5 minutes, and the crew will helpfully inform both of you that unless you start kissing, getting handsy, so and so forth before your time is up... you'll be kicked out of the room!

If you do, you'll find, the timer then starts over -- at 4 minutes!

Then 3.

Then 2...

And so on and so forth, until there isn't any time at all between activities. Better get busy!

Does it feel like-- it's a little early to have yours settled like that? You know... like maybe you didn't really get as close to another couple folks, if you had any in mind.

Or like you didn't have the time to really have anyone in mind, if you didn't yet.

Mhm. That's exactly it. I had no expectations about our matchups, and I know I'd be happy with whoever I'll end up with. There wasn't simply any time to get to know most of them on a much deeper level, compared to our situation aboard Limbus Company.

[ he exhales a sigh of relief, glad that gregor was able to nail it right on the head. ]

Frieren is wonderful. Kind. Soft-spoken. A world of difference compared to Big Sis Baochai. [ he rolls on the bed to gaze up at gregor, his smile helpless. ] I do not wish to make the same mistake with her, when I used to go along with my betrothed's whims with no urgency.

You're not exactly banned from talking with the rest of us, are you? I think you could still get to know the others here if you want. You should, if you ask me-- we won't get a lot of opportunities to meet people outside the City.

[even if it's just to make friends, it's good to get those perspectives. meet people they'd otherwise never, ever know.]

But I think that you probably... you know what mistakes you don't wanna make already, and she's not someone who's gonna make that difficult.

Mm. I know. I'll have to talk to her about it. She... still doesn't know a lot about me, which is perhaps the reason why I feel unsure despite knowing how much of a great person she is.

[ he knows she is. she has to! hong lu doesn't have astronomically high standards -- all he wanted is someone kind, and he got it. ]

But as far as I know, we can go back and visit you guys every now and again! So you don't have to miss us too much. [ hehe ] So what are everyone's plans now that we finally had a match made?

I get the feeling. There's... things I'd want someone to know about me, too, I just can't say 'em when it's all being put out there.

[there are things the cameras don't need to record, after all. things that should be between him and whoever he chooses to tell.]

...we talked about who might fit with who, and that, uh, narrowed it down for me. Most of the ones I'd choose said they've got their pick all set, told us who it was and everything... I can't get in the way of that.

You can utilize this room with someone at anytime for a private chat! That's what happened with me and Date when we were here together, actually.

I know, but, uh... well, Gustave said he'd thought we could be a match, then Date was asking if he'd considered him, and I know better than to get in the middle of that. Especially when he says he's going to pick Date.

they're both good men, he thinks, but they're also guys he can't compete with. those are both off the table unless they agree they're not going to work out, date has basically staked his claim there.]

I think Leslie might be a match for me too, but she said she was going to pick Sherbet and Sherbet was so excited about it... I couldn't do that to her, Hong Lu.

[she's too sweet and earnest, he just can't.]

Think Dettlaff is probably still a safe choice, though. I'll probably go with him.

You could see it too, right? Date adores Gustave so much. I wouldn't want to get in between them either.

[ he already told date that they're fine being friends... ough ]

Dettlaff is a fine man too! He keeps surprising me with his personality. He's a lot more open-minded than I thought. [ so maybe gregor would fw him?? seems like it. ] But I have seen you and Leslie hang out more often than not. You two would make quite the pair. But...

[ yeah, there's sweet sherbet. hong lu would never do that to her either SHE IS SWEET LIKE THE DESSERT SHE'S NAMED AFTER??? ]

But I think you should go for it anyway, Gregor. [ he then sits up and faces gregor, face tinged with a silent determination. ] Not saying that you should settle with Dettlaff because he is also a great choice, but... You must follow your heart.

[ a pause as he looks down on his lap, his smile wry. ]

Don't be like my past self, is what I'm saying.

...I know. I'm not avoiding that either.

[he glances over to the clock, checking it-- yeah, almost, so while hong lu is sitting up, he takes advantage of that to lean in and kiss him for a second.

it's still not bad, is the thing, to have someone here he's already close to... but that's not what this conversation is about.]

Picking him wouldn't really be settling, it's-- he knows what it's like, to have people just see you for... what you are. To use you. He wants somebody who's not gonna treat him that way either.

I figure, you know... it would make sense for that to be somebody who's gone through similar stuff.

Sounds like you two are a pretty good match, then. You didn't mind Don Quixote's own quirks when she finally revealed herself to us, so why stop there, right?

I suppose we'll just have to see the results for ourselves tomorrow. You guys sounded like you all had settled in with the matches that made a lot of sense, so there's got to be more than right match there somewhere.
